double digits

10 months:

~ You have 3 teeth, two on bottom 1 on top
~ You have learned how to clap
~you have learned how to wave “HI”
~ You are pulling yourself up on everything, and have climbed the stairs a couple of times
~You love cruising/walking around anything
~ You will let go of the sofa and stand by yourself for a few seconds (slow down girl!)

~ You experienced your first snow, and loved crawling and sledding in it!

I have found Pinterest!

This weekend has been a great almost free crafting time, thanks to pinterest! Next Sunday I will be making a slow-cooker baked potato soup, yummy! Here are some of my projects!

I had the frame, and learned how to do the fabric rosettes off a tutorial online. The fabric is old tee shirts. I had to buy a 1/2 yard of the red tee shirt material and the scrap-booking paper, so this project cost me around $3
I love the idea of leaving little notes to members of our family with a dry-erase pin; great way to show your thinking of someone!

My next pinterest project is still in the making. It includes these rosettes that are going to be placed on a headband!

From snow to Ice...

The Seattle area has never seen an ice storm like this. I was snowing/frozen rain to ice balls (different than hail,) all day. Over 100,000 people are without power because of down trees due to the weight of the ice on the branches. Luckily we still have power, and have Andrew's dad here for the night because he lost power at his house.

~Round 1, we just got a dusting and black ice; enough to cancel school. Only to have a day similar to a sunny spring day; can you say disappointing and frustrated.

~Round 2
School was called off before 5pm the night before, without a single snowflake in the air. The projection was record snow fall in the entire western Washington region. we could see anywhere from 3-12 inches of snow. Before Andrew and I went to bed we noticed what looked more like rain covering the street and cars. We were awaken to 3 inches and two very excited boys! Our snow total is 5 inchs, that may not seem like much, but 1: we are very close to the water and 2: we are very close to sea level. So for us to get any snow is a miracle!

Friendship Award...

Eric came home from school on monday, and thanks to a dear neighbor brought him home from the bus because Abbey was still napping. Eric walked in the door saying "Mom, we have lunch on wednesday with the principle, your suppose to come." In my head I thought "What have you done now?!?" Well, it wasn't what i thought! Eric along with 2 other students in his class were awarded the "Friendship Award!"
It's amazing what a few months can do; some of you know that the school Eric was slotted to attended was over crowed and needed to move 27 students to a whole new school (4 days into the school year.) Eric was one of those students, and he wasn't happy about it. We had a rough couple weeks and had a meeting with his teacher. We all got on the same page and set goals for Eric, and I started helping in the class every other week!
Flash forward to today... I learned he was given the award from his teacher for going above and beyond, to show kindness in the class room and on the play ground! We are very proud to have a little man who cares about others! Eric has always had a great gift at being a good friend!



After lunch I was invited to stay for Eric's recess... Here's what he did! He even beat me at a four square game!
